Hello!
My name is Dani, and I will be your reporter during the duration of my stay at the Palmetto Belk, LLC building in Downtown Spartanburg, SC.
Yes, I have the best view in town. My apartment (and office, which is above my apartment) looks straight over Morgan Square. With this great view, however, comes great responsibility, for I see many goings-ons in this growing part of the city. Almost daily, there is something going on in the Square that I feel the need to report to someone. What better way to do that than through a blog? No, I won't live in this apartment forever nor have this amazing job forever, but while I am here, perhaps I could freelance a little and put my new Journalism degree to some good use.
I encourage you to comment on posts in this blog. I'd love to know who is interested, and hope the dirty scoop I give on everything that happens is interesting.
As for the news today...Wild Wing Cafe has up and closed on us! This is tragic, for it brings a HUGE number of people to the area. It's been upsetting to look out my window and see patrons read the notes plastered everywhere and sadly turn back to their car. They immediately flip open their cell phones and call friends, or perhaps family, to inform them of the sad news and discuss where else to eat (If I were down there, I'd tell everyone to go to Delaney's).
It has been on the news and in the papers that the prized employees of Wild Wing Cafe have not been paid in weeks. The few that did get paid were told there was no money in the account once they got to the bank. Very sad. Wild Wings has to do at least $30,000 in sales every day. I wonder what those owners are up to? I certainly don't believe the BS notes on their doors today, mentioning something about a water pipe breaking. If this were so, it would be the most coincidental water pipe break in history.

I don't think Wild Wings is closed. It will re-open today, apparently. Sounds like they need new ownership - hopefully that will happen sooner than later!
Can't wait to see what else you blog about - what a cool idea!
You have impeccable timing, Anonymous. Just as you commented, I made a post about Wild Wings putting a sign out saying they are open. =]
Thank you for your interest! I look forward to your comments and readership in the future.

Lamar, I would be absolutely honored to ride on the SDA Christmas float. Thank you so much for the invitation. When I first made this blog, I intended on just having fun with it. I am very glad that it is also steering sights to downtown. Shoot me an email and let me know the details of the Christmas parade. Maybe we can even set up a time to meet. =]
